Mats Hummels
Manchester Untied are close to completing a €20 million transfer deal for Germany international Mats Hummels according to reports from Spain.

Spanish news providers SPORTS have revealed Manchester United are up in the race for the 2014 FIFA World Cup winner after Catalan club Barcelona pulled out of the race to sign Hummel.

Manchester United have lost all their experienced players at the backline with Nemanja Vidic joining Inter Milan, Patrice Evra joining Juventus and Rio Ferdinand staying in England with Queens Park Rangers.

New boss Louis Van Gaal wants a world class defender and has made Mats Hummels his top transfer target in defence. SPORTS go on to report the deal could be completed as early as the end of this week.

German tabloid Bild however has some comments to make of SPORTS' revelation. Bild commented on the transfer rumour:

'If a Spanish sports newspaper reports first on the transfer of a Germany international to an English club, a certain scepticism is entirely appropriate.'

Fernando Torres
Raul Garcia of Atletico Madrid says Chelsea striker Fernando Torres would welcome a move back to the Spanish league Champions. The La Liga winners are however not willing to meet Chelsea's £13 million asking price for the striker who transfer from Liverpool at a fee of £50 million.

Garcia told ITV:
'I speak to him a lot and he still feels very strongly about this club.

'His life has been defined by what he experienced here and he is another option just like any other that the media have mentioned.

'Any great player that can come here will be welcome.'

Will Torres be the man to replace Diego Costa at Atletico Madrid? Time will tell.

Ezequiel Lavezzi
AC Milan have been strongly linked with a transfer move for  Argentina international Ezequiel Lavezzi.

Milan boss Filippo Inzaghi is believed to be a fan of the Paris Saint Germain player.

The move could materialize with Angel Di Maria, another Argentine also linked with a move from Real Madrid to the French Champions.

Patrice Evra
Manchester United announced Patrice Evra had completed his move from the club to Juventus.

The Manchester club wrote on their official Twitter page:

'Patrice Evra has left #mufc to join Juventus. Everyone at the club would like to thank him for his many years of excellent service.'

Samuel Eto'o
Former Chelsea player Samuel Eto'o will not be joining Italian Serie A club Napoli after his agent dismissed speculations.

Claudio Vigorelli told Radio Kiss Kiss:
'Eto'o at Napoli? There is no truth there.' Follow @kboakye92
