Ahead of the final on Sunday, FIFA has released a list of outstanding performers of this year's World Cup in Brazil.

As expected, players from finalists Argentina and Germany dominated the list, though many believe Brazil's Neymar and Colombia's James Rodriguez stand a good chance of swooping for the award.

There will be an overall winner named to receive the famed golden ball after the final at the Maracana, with the second and third place taking home the silver and bronze balls respectively.

Also announced was a list for best young player of the tournament: Paul Pogba (France), Memphis Depay (Netherlands) and Raphael Varane (France).

Keylor Navas (Costa Rica), Sergio Romero (Argentina) and Manuel Neuer (Germany) have also been confirmed as the three nominees for the 'Golden globe' award for overall best goalkeeper of the tournament, whilst Italian Niccola Rizzoti has been named as the referee for the final.

Below is the full 10-man list for the ultimate Golden Ball award. The winner will succeed Uruguay's Diego Forlan who won the last edition in South Africa.
