According to reports, footballer Sulley Muntari has saved a bedridden girl from death after donating a cash of $5,000 to assist her undergo heart surgery.

3-year-old Essor was ailing and reportedly needed $5,000 (Five thousand US Dollars) to undergo surgery for a hole-in-heart problem.

Doctors had diagnosed that Essor was facing death within days should the family fail to raise the said amount needed for the surgery.

Muntari who was sent home unceremoniously from the Ghana camp at the ongoing 2014 FIFA World Cup for apparent indiscipline, was watching TV Africa at the time of the emotional appeal on the local television channel and drove himself on a motorbike apparently in a bid to disguise himself.

The AC Milan midfield workaholic successfully evaded TV Africa staff but was soon recognized at the point of making the donation, reports claim.

Muntari similarly made a donation to the poor in Brazil barely days before the Black Stars began the botched World Cup campaign.

He is one of the highest paid Ghanaian players of all time having played in the top Italian Serie A for a decade, having only intertwined his time in Italy on a year's stint with Portsmouth in the English Premier League where he powered them to the FA Cup trophy in 2007.

Muntari previously featured for Udinese in Serie A before signing for Inter Milan from Portsmouth and won the UEFA Champions' League with the Nerazzuri under Jose Mourinho in 2010.

Muntari has also played for the Black Stars in all three of Ghana's World Cup appearances of 2006, 2010 and 2014 of course.
