ABOUT 50 GHANAIANS who are living in Turkey have benefited from a largesse supplied by Black Stars defender Jerry Akaminko.

The Eskisehir Spor player presented a variety of food items to his compatriots in their separate homes in Istanbul.

Akaminko, a tough defender, is noted for his passion for extending a helping hand to the needy in society.

The presentation of food items was the defender's widow's mite in helping the beneficiaries to observe Easter with joy.

Akaminko, during the visit, also paid the rent for some of the Ghanaians in Istanbul who were struggling to settle their bills.

The player's decision to pay the rents was to save the cash-strapped Ghanaians from being ejected from their homes.

Akaminko is an integral member of the Black Stars of Ghana who would be making their third successive appearance at the World Cup in June.

The hard working player has over the years been extending a helping hand to needy Ghanaians and Africans living in Turkey.

Last year, he paid GH¢2,000 to a Ghana team who were playing in an African Cup of Nations in Turkey.

The Ghana team was made up of players that had journeyed to Turkey for greener pastures but failed to secure clubs.
