Yartey and Assifuah showed master-class form

Ghana youth striker Ebenezer Assifuah took just three minutes to score the opening goal for FC Sion while Ishmael Yartey put up an outstanding display in their 3-0 hammering of Luzern in the Swiss Super League.

The 2013 FIFA U20 Golden Shoe Award winner employed his extraordinary physique to force his way into the Luzern box and blasted home a thunderous drive to register his third goal in the Swiss top-flight.

With new manager Laurent Roussey in firm control and steering Sion back to the top of the table, Assifuah and Yartey were both started at the Stade de Tourbillon.

And Assifuah made a huge statement about his striking abilities, rushing to steal a blocked effort from Kouassi and nailed the ball home for the opener.

After the goal, Sion were inspired and the guest found wanting and then Yartey unleashed his wizardry on flanks – bursting with explosive pace and cutting in from the left occasionally.

In the 27th minute of the first-half, he made light works of two Luzern defenders before firing a scintillating effort which just skinned wide.

Sion have recorded two wins on a trot, scoring five goals in the process and conceding none.
