Turkey based amputee football professionals this afternoon paid a courtesy call on the newly appointed chairman of the Ghana Amputee Football Association reverend Nii Amartey Adesa at his office in Accra.

The trio-Richard Ekwam-captain of the National Amputee Team -the Black Challenge,Francis Antwi Darko and Richard Opaintsil Arthur all of the National Team congratulated the new President on his assumption of office.

Richard Opaintsil Arthur who was the spokesperson of the delegation and a striker for Ankara Yenimahake was of praise and assurance that with the new administrative set up, amputee football was set to rise to higher heights especially as the National Team is set to conquer Africa in Kenya later this year.

In response to the latter's submission Rev. Adesa admonished the senior players to strive for unity and discipline which according to him, were key to the success of the National team.

Reverend Adesa again outlined his plans for tackling the upcoming programmes for the Association and primarily appealed for corporate support and assistance especially as the Black Challenge are feverishly preparing towards the November showdown at the Africa Amputee cup of nations in Nairobi, Kenya.

Ghana current boasts of four amputee professional footballers who ply for top flight clubs inside turkey-a country that has carved a niche for itself as the leading stable for promoting amputee football in the world.

The amputee football team it will be recalled failed to win the African cup of nations last year at the Accra sports stadium after that painful loss to Kenya in the finals but however provided a quality tonic performance at the world mundial in Russia early this year.
