New Town Youth FC have posted back - to - back wins in the ongoing Greater Accra 2nd division league as they look to secure a place in the second tier of Ghana football next season.
Last Wednesday at the Kawukudi Park at Nima, they accounted for Lillian FC 3 - 0 in and away encounter to enhance their leadership in Zone Six and extended their dominance further with another 5 - 0 success over Accra Celtic FC on Saturday.
These two victories place them in a good position to qualify from their zone to the middle league which leads to qualification to the first division of Ghana football.
Goals by Patrick Cudjoe Sarfo (2) and Samuel Tetteh were enough to see them collect the three points at the expense of Lillian FC in midweek as they headed into their weekend home fixture with Accra Celtic FC at their Avenor base.
Saturday's home tie was expected to be a much more closer encounter, but, New Town Youth made it a completely one sided affair as they run away with a comprehensive 5 - 0 victory over the visitors.
Sensational Fred Emeka scored twice for New Town Youth with the other goals being provided by Abdul Rashid Obuobi, Musa Yakubu and Masawudu Osman to complete the riot in this match - day 14 encounter.
They will now look forward to their next game with enough confidence as they seek to make it to the second tier of Ghana football.
In a related development, Accra New Town United beat Global FC 3 - 2 at the Bostal Institute Park on Sunday in a 3rd division encounter.
Goals by Masud Rahman and Stanley Bissah (2) for United were enough to seal victory for them as Abraham Ofosu and Collins Abraham, scored the consolation for Global FC.
