The Greater Accra Hockey Association (GAHA) League has received a major financial package of ¢35,000 a year, for five years, from Dwadifo Adanfo (DA), an Accra-based Micro Finance Company.

And when the 2013/14 season kick-starts, the Micro Finance Company will be the new headline sponsor of the league, taking over from NDK Financial Services.

Besides the financial package, DA presented a brand new Hyundai i10 saloon car to the Association for administrative purposes.

Signing the sponsorship agreement at the hockey stadium in Accra last Friday, GAHA chairman Frank Awuku said the support will help his outfit in the smooth running of the league and he thanked the donors for the gesture.

CEO of DA Charles Amonoo described the gesture as giving back to society and supporting the development of sports in the country.

He promised to extend the gesture to the Ashanti Region Hockey Association.

The ceremony also witnessed the presentation of awards to outstanding clubs in the past season.

CEPS Ladies finished first in the lady's league, while Golden Sticks won the men's event. Sapholda grabbed the Seniors League, while La Juniors won the juvenile league.

And for distinguishing themselves in their respective divisions, they received trophies.

By the new sponsorship deal, winners in the various categories would receive financial rewards in addition to the silverwares.
