Accra, Dec. 26, GNA - Liberty Professionals dished out a befitting Christmas present to their fans, beating Berekum Chelsea 5-1 in their Week-13 Premiership encounter at the Sly Tetteh Stadium, Dansoman, on Wednesday.
Striker Ebenezer Assifuah, finally found his scoring boots, netting four goals and Kwame Boahene, scoring the other before Joseph Ato Bissah, grabbed a consolation for the visitors in the closing stages.
Liberty's defensive midfielder, Ghandy Kassenu, was the star performer as he played a role in each of the goals. The host were superior from the onset, capitalizing on the weak Chelsea back line, which lacked gel in the opening minutes. Against the run of play, Assifuah broke the deadlock on six minutes before doubling the lead on 12 minutes on.
The homers resumed on the same tempo and three minutes into the second half, Boahene scored the third goal by tapping in from Yusif Ayoma's cross from the right.
On 56 minutes, Assifuah scored the third goal before netting his fourth of the day on 71 minutes to take his sides tally to five.
Ato Bissah grabbed a consolation for the visitors in the closing stages of the game, but it was too little too late for the inform visitors.
