Last DOL Matches Postponed Again

The last zonal matches of the Division One League (DOL) which were rescheduled for this weekend have been postponed again to next weekend, November 8 and 9.

The postponement is to enable the GFA Disciplinary Committee which has worked around the clock to clear a bulk of the pending cases, to decide on a few outstanding cases tomorrow.

According to a statement signed by the Chairman of the DOL Board, Mr Douglas Djarbeng, there are also a number of cases which have been referred to the Appeals Committee for adjudication. It expressed the hope that the appellate body will, as usual discharge its duties with a sense of urgency.

" The DOL Board wishes to inform all participating clubs and indeed the general public that provision was made in its programme for this year for the suspension of the league at this stage of the competition," the statement stressed.

It gave assurance that the programme for the DOL was well on course and that barring any unforeseen circumstances, the national middle league and play-off will end as planned in mid-December, a few days after the end of the Professional League.

The DOL Board urged all participating clubs, as well as match officials, to take note of the latest development and be guided accordingly.

Consequently, the GFA Disciplinary Committee will sit on the remaining protest cases at the FA secretariat tomorrow. These include Cornerstone versus Great Ashanti, Home Stars versus Vora, Shooting Stars versus Nationals, Yeji Stars versus Mighty Rock, Bronkyempem versus Kintampo and Catholic Stars versus Morin Stars.

The rest are Farisco Stars versus Gold Stars, Boca Juniors versus Kwamax, Boca Juniors versus Kintampo United and Eleven Wise versus Feyernoord.

Meanwhile, the Disciplinary Committee is reported to have declared Wise losers in their match against Bafana for using more than three required loaned players per match. Wise who won the match 2-1 will therefore lose the three points in addition to three more points’ deduction from their accumulated build-up.

Also to lose three points is Upper West Heroes for causing the abrupt end of their league match against Boca Juniors. However, Bronkyempem’s protest against Pro-Sports was dismissed, just as the case involving Cornerstone and Kaaseman.
