Stars get full-house at training ahead of Malawi game

Accra, Sept. 5, GNA – The Black Stars got a full-house at their training session on Wednesday as part of preparations towards this weekend's 2013 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against the Flames of Malawi.

All 24-players trained for the first time at the Accra Sports Stadium as they were joined by the trio of Andre Ayew, his kid-brother Jordan and goalkeeper Adam Larsen Kwarasey, who missed out on the first day of training.

The players who reported to the opening day session were goalkeepers Fatau Dauda and Ernest Sowah. The defenders are Daniel Opare (Standard Liege, Belgium), Harrison Afful (Esperance, Tunisia), Razak Nuhu (Stromgodset, Norway), Samuel Inkoom (Dnipro, Ukraine), John Boye (Rennes, France), Isaac Vorsah (Hoffenheim, Germany), Jerry Akaminko (Eskisehirspor, Turkey) and Rashid Sumaila (Kotoko)

Also at the session were Midfielders component of Anthony Annan (Osasuna, Spain), Derek Boateng (Dnipro, Ukraine), Emmanuel Agyemang Badu (Udinese, Italy), Kwadwo Asamoah (Juventus, Italy), Christian Atsu (Porto, Portugal), Solomon Asante (Berekum Chelsea) and newcomer Isaac Coffie (Chievo, Italy).

For the strikers, Boakye Yiadom (Juventus, Italy), Emmanuel Clottey (Berekum Chelsea), Abdul Majeed Warris (Hacken, Sweden), Asamoah Gyan (Al Ain, UAE) were also present.

The players were taken through the drills by head coach Kwesi Appiah, supported by his deputy Maxwell Konadu as they worked out the right tactical plan for the game with crucial game with the Flames.

The Black Stars are scheduled to engage a lower division side in a test game on Wednesday afternoon at the Accra Sports Stadium.

Meanwhile, the Flames are scheduled to arrive in Accra later on Wednesday from Monrovia, where the lost by a lone goal to the Lone Stars of Liberia in an international friendly last Tuesday.
