Accra , June 11, GNA - When patrons of Ghana football gather at the plush Golden Tulip Hotel in Kumasi on Saturday, June 16, it will be to honour players and officials who excelled in the 2011/2012 Glo Premiership.
The Premier League Board (PLB) led by Welbeck Abra Appiah, is hopeful of delivering their best Award ever since the practice was instituted over five seasons ago.
The Awards, the first to be hosted in Kumasi, the Ashanti Regional capital is expected to reward over a dozen people who played various roles on and off the field in the Premier League that crowned Kumasi Asante Kotoko as the season's Champions.
The program, which according to information pieced together by GNA Sports was sent to the Garden City to give it democratization since the PLB seeks to take it to yet another level.
With over 36 individuals competing in 12 different categories for honours, the Premier League top scorer, Emmanuel Baffour's Goal-King category is the only one that would be non-competitive.
The New Edubiase FC striker will however join Kotoko's Daniel Nii Adjei and Berekum Chelsea's Emmanuel Clottey to battle for the top-most award, the 'Most Valuable Player' on the night expected to be filled with glamour and pageantry.
