Accra, May 28, GNA – There were mixed results for Ghana at the opening day of the African Handball Confederation (CAHB) Zone 3 U-20 Championship played on Monday at the Accra Sports Stadium.
The Male team got off their campaign on a positive note after beating their Togolese counterparts 31 - 25, whilst their female colleagues lost 16 - 33 to Nigeria.
The Black Fingers dominated their Togolese to cruise to victory whilst the female counterparts surrendered their early lead to allow the Nigerians start the campaign on a high note.
In the other matches, the female team of Togo were beaten 7 - 19 by neighbours Benin in an all-Francophone affair.
It was double delight for Nigeria as their male team also accounted for Cote d'Ivoire 28 - 13.
