Ghana coach James Kwesi Appiah has congratulated Michael Essien for winning with the UEFA Champions League with Chelsea.
Chelsea beat Bayern Munich on penalties on Saturday to win Europe's flagship club competition.
Appiah said: "I am really delighted by Michael Essien's Champions League success with Chelsea.
"Essien's hard work in training and the hard work of the Chelsea players has certainly paid off.
"I am really really proud of his achievement."
