
Mankessim, May 15, GNA – Samuel Anim of the Young Stars Cycling won the overall award of the Yellow Jersey at the first stage of the 2012 Cowbell Tour of Ghana Cycling race.
The champion won two other awards made up of the Red Jersey (best fighter) and Green Jersey (best by points (30 points)) with Victor Cudjoe of All Stars Club winning the Youngest Cyclist Award.
John Zormelo of Quick Step Club came second and William Nartey of H.M Club finished third.
An elated Anim told GNA Sports that the race was no easy task, but his rigorous training programme saw him overcome the challenges.
He expressed confident on winning the next stages of the Tour having trained very hard and conditioned himself for the task ahead.
The Cowbell Tour of Ghana has 11 stages over eight regions across the country.
Seventy-two (72) cyclists from 12 clubs are competing for honours.
