Berekum Chelsea Coach Hans Van Der Plyum is happy with his players for the performance on Sunday.
Chelsea sealed their place in the group stage of the African Champions League after eliminating Coton Sport on Sunday. The former Ghanaian champions won 2-1 in Garoua after both sides drew goalless in the first leg a fortnight ago in Ghana.
It is the first time since 2006 that a Ghanaian club will be playing in the prestigious group stage of the CAF Champions league.
Head coach Hans Van Der Plyum who guided the team to this historic feat is convinced they can rule Africa this year.
“It may be too early to talk about our chances but I strongly believe the performance we put up gives me hope that we can go the full mark. Said Van Der Plyum
“We were very determined and it paid off for us. It's quite a historic feat for a team that is playing in Africa for the first time.
“Let wait and see the draw and then we can talk about our prospects. But one thing has emerged and that is the fact that the spirit of the team is very high,”
