Accra, May 7, GNA - Celebrity Golf Club, Sakumono will be host of the 80th edition of the Ghana Open Golf championship.
The competition, the biggest on the sport's calendar is expected to draw some of the country's finest golfers for amateurs and pros and will tee-off on September 21.
MTN Ghana has been handed the exclusive right as the telecommunication sponsor of the competition.
Michael Nkpoki, Chief Executive of MTN Ghana said, “We are happy to be part of the biggest golf event in the country, and it is an opportunity to contribute our quota to the development of the sport in the country.
“We want to encourage the development of golf and other events but this will give us the opportunity to support both amateurs and pros”. Ikpoki stated.
It would be recalled that ace golfers Mona Myers Lamptey and Emos Koblah finished first in the Men's and Women's events when the Celebrity Club last hosted the championship about three years ago.
