Bekwai, May 6, GNA – New Edubiase United scaled over Kpando Heart of Lions to advance to the quarter finals stage of the MTN FA Cup competition with a 2-0 win over the visitors at the Gyamfi Park on Sunday.
After a scoreless first half, Aseidu Atoborah opened the scores for Edubiase when he connected home Abdul Basit's pass in the 50th minute.
Bernard Ofori made it two in the 55th minute, also with assistance from Basit thus compelling Lions to return a fierce fight in the last quarter of the game but they failed to redeem their image as the game coasted to an end and to knock them out of the competition.
At the Obuasi Len Clay Stadium, Ashgold beat Wa All Stars 4-3 on penalties after the two sides had settled for one all draw game in regulation time.
