
ALL ROADS in Kumasi, the Ashanti regional capital, will on May 18 to 20 lead to the Royal Golf Club, venue for the 55 th Asantehene Gold Cup golf tournament.
The Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, who is a renowned golfer, is expected to tee off on May 18, 2012 at a special ceremony to officially kick-start the competition.
This year's tournament is being sponsored by telecommunication giants MTN, with support from other reputable organizations.
As usual, the crème-de-la-crème in Ghana's golf and from across the globe, notably from Sub-Saharan Africa, is expected to grace the occasion which is the biggest golf tournament in the northern sector of the country.
As done in previous tournaments, golfers that will perform well will be honoured with mouth-smacking prizes including cash and glittering trophies.
The winners on the day will also get the golden opportunity of shaking hands and also taking memorable pictures with the Asantehene Otumfuo Osei Tutu II who will be the special guest of honour.
The Asantehene Gold Cup is a prestigious golf tournament with an international touch. It is played annually on the greens of the Royal Golf Club in honour of the occupant of the Golden Stool.
The tournament is the second biggest golf tournament in the country after the Ghana Open Golf tournament.
