The President of one of Ghana’s vibrant supporters unions, the Die-Hard Supporters Union of Ghana, Abraham Nkansah, (alias Akpilugu Tsakapaama) has struck a deal with agro-chemical company, SIDALCO, to cloth the group and to provide some basic equipments needed by the group in the discharge of their national duties.
As part of the deal, the company would also support some of their trips to support either the national team or big events involving Ghanaian teams.
Sequel to that Die-Hard has expanded opening offices across the nooks and cranies of the countries to increase its membership base.
The Union which was the only group to support the hockey national team during the Hockey Nations Cup in Accra last two years as well as the club championships last year is hoping to give equal attension to all disciplines including cycling, volleyball, and basketball.
Mr Nkansah told the Graphic Sports last Monday after a media briefing on the second edition of the Tour Du Ghana Cycling Tour to be organised by the Ghana Cycling Associations. The group is the official Supporters Union for the tour and will be at all the stages to cheer the cyclists.
He was upbeat about competition which features Ghana’s top cyclists from May 15. He expressed gratitude to the cycling associations for drafting his union into the programme.
He also expressed thanks to their sponsosrs, Sidalco, for the support to ensure that Die-Hard Supporters Union remained on top.
