Ghana defender John Paintsil has ended his contract with Leicester City by mutual consent.

Paintsil leaves the Championship side just nine months into a three-year contract.

A statement from City said Pantsil, who becomes a free agent, left with the best wishes of everyone at the club.

The full-back, 30, joined Leicester from Fulham in September 2011.
