Maxwell Konadu to be confirmed as Assistant Stars coach The appointment of Ghanaian trainer, Kwasi Appiah is set to evoke a major shake-up in the long standing technical team of the senior national team, the Black Stars.

The revolution is billed to claim one of the biggest casualties, Eddie Ansah a goalkeeper’s trainer of the team who has been at post since 2004.

He is being replaced by Nasamu Yakubu, currently a goalkeeper’s trainer with Premier League side, Medeama.

Nasamu who in his hey day featured regularly for Accra Hearts of Oak has been living a quiet life at Tarkwa, but insiders say he has been doing his work deligently at Tarkwa where goalkeepers such as Mozart Adjetey, Muntari Tagoe, Tijani Musah and Stephen Ahorlu (who has been transfered to Wassaman) has been under his tutelage.

It has also been established that Kotoko’s substantive coach, Maxwell Konadu will be confirmed as the assistant to Coach Appiah, Liberty Professionals team manager, Sabahn Quaye, will take over as the new Black Stars welfare officer.

Sabahan will replace Opoku Afriyie who has been carrying out that duties, since the demise of the late Alhaji Maikano in 2004.

Sources say Konadu and Sabahn were the choice of the newly appointed head coach who worked with him during his brief spell with the national Olympic team, the Black Meteors, particularly in that memorable moments at the All Africa Games in Maputo, Mozambique when they made history by winning gold in the mens football competition.

Another appointment being considered is Dr. Prince Pambo, a medical officer in charge of the Ghanaman Soccer Academy at Prampram in the Greater Accra Region. Pambo, a medical officer with experience in sports medicine, will replace Dr. Percy Annan who took over from Dr. Martin Engman after the 2008 Africa Cup of Nations.
