New talents to emerge at Airtel Rising Stars tournament

A new breed of talents, both male and female will showcase their skills when the second season of the Airtel Rising Stars tournament gets underway.
The tournament, which is a pan-African soccer talent program focuses on identifying and nurturing budding soccer talents from the grassroots to the national level.
On Tuesday, the second season of the tournament was launched in Accra, which was attended by President of the Ghana Football Association, Kwesi Nyantakyi.
According to the organisers, the second season will be played in two zones; the Northern and the Southern sector.
The Northern sector which will have its regional competition played at the Baba Yara Stadium in Kumasi comprises the Ashanti, Brong Ahafo and the three northern regions.
The Southern sector comprises the Eastern, Western, Central, Greater Accra and the Volta regions.
The victorious teams in both the male and female division will travel to Nairobi, Kenya to participate in an a mini African tourney.
Teams from the Brong Ahafo and Ashanti Region emerged winners in the male and female division respectively in the maiden edition last year.
And six youngsters from Ghana traveled to South Africa to take part in a soccer clinic alongside other African countries where Airtel, a telecommunication company operates.
