Accra, March 20, GNA – Malian referee Koman Coulibaly will be at the centre of affairs during Sunday's CAF Champions League between Ghana's Berekum Chelsea and Raja Casablanca of Morocco.

Information gathered by GNA Sports from CAF Secretariat indicates that Coulibaly, 41, will lead a team of Malian officials for the 1/16th round first leg clash billed for the Golden City Park, Berekum in the Brong Ahafo Region.

The Malian is one of the respected match officials in Africa and has attended every edition of the Africa Cup of Nations since 2002.

As one of the African referees selected for the 2010 FIFA World Cup in South Africa, he also handled the final match of the 2010 Africa Cup of Nations between Ghana and Egypt, which the latter won by a lone goal.

A graduate of the University of Bamako, Coulibaly's last game involving a Ghanaian club was in 2009 during the CAF Champions League involving Kumasi Asante Kotoko and Ittihad Khemisset of Morocco at the Essipong Stadium in Sekondi.

Referee Coulibaly will be assisted by compatriots Diarra Balla and Bamba Nouhoun with Karembe Ousmane serving as the fourth official.

According to CAF, Ouedraogo Yacouba of Burkina Faso will serve as the Match Commissioner.

The match officials are expected in Accra on Thursday, March 22, 2012.

It would be recalled that Malian officials handled the preliminary second leg clash involving Berekum Chelsea and LISCR of Liberia a fortnight ago in Berekum.

Meanwhile Raja Casablanca are expected in the country on Friday morning before they will be airlifted to Sunyani, the Brong Ahafo Regional capital.
