The Ghana Football Association says it will headhunt for a new coach if Goran Stevanovic is sacked after today's crunch talks.

The Serbian trainer was expected to arrive yesterday and meet with a five-man committee who will announce the status of the coach.

Reports are rife that the former Partizan Belgrade coach has been dismissed.

If that is confirmed, the Ghana FA will have to name his successor ahead of the 2014 FIFA World Cup qualifiers in June.

The Ghana FA does not want to go through the rigorous process of vetting candidates before settling on the qualified coach for the Black Stars.

“We will head hunt if we decide to let go of Goran Stevanovic. That takes less time than opening the position up for advertisement,” President Kwesi Nyantakyi said.

“However this option will not kick in if we decide to retain his (Stevanovic) services.”

Former France captain Marcel Desailly has emerged as the frontrunner for the job.

Stevanovic's future as Ghana coach has been speculated after failing to win the 2012 Africa Cup of Nations.
