The East Legon police have mounted a search for the two armed men who made their way into the Trassaco Valley residence of Black Stars skipper, John Mensah, in the early hours of Sunday and damaged an Escalade cross-country vehicle belonging to his wife after a fruitless operation.

The armed robbers reportedly entered the yard through the back door and broke the left back window glass of the vehicle but bolted without any booty after they were given away by the vehicle’s alarm.

Narrating the story to the Graphic Sports, Mrs Henrietta Mensah, wife of the Olympique Lyon defender, who is beginning to have security worries after that second robbery attempt, noted that the robbers could neither gain access to their main apartment, nor get anything from the car which was parked in the main yard alongside others.

According to her, the East Legon police, upon receiving her complaint, promised to send men to the house the following day to take the finger prints of the robbers and proceed with their investigations.

Mrs Mensah, however, revealed that unlike the first robbery attempt last year which saw the assailants leaving behind a pinch bar after an exchange of fire, the thieves left this time wiithout any trace after the alarm.

She said just a fortnight there was a similar attack on her next door neighbour during which the robbers broke into her car and made away with her laptop computer and an unspecified amount of US dollars.

She suspected that the same group of robbers might have carried out last Sunday’s failed operation perhaps based on what they got from the recent operation.

Mrs Mensah, who is now living in fear with her family and neighbours in the Trassaco Valley generally believed to be a safe haven for residents, lamented why residents should be made to pay so much for security annually and still have security worries.

That notwithstanding, she said she had reported the latest incident to the management of Trassaco Valley as she did on previous occasions and therefore want them to expedite action as soon as possible to ensure the safety of residents.
