Kotoko's Reign Under Threat

Current League Leaders Asante Kotoko's summit status comes under severe test as they journey to Bekwai to battle middle-placed New Edubiase.

Edubiase have consistently proved to be tough customers for the Red Army since  joining the elite league three seasons ago, and today's encounter is like to toe the same line.

Indeed, the outcome of the games involving the top four clubs- Kotoko Vs Edubiase, Chelsea Vs Dwarfs and Hearts Vs Aduana  is likely to change face of the table.

The Bekwai Park has been a fortress for Edubiase until Chelsea broke that jinx a few weeks ago, and going by that, unbeaten Kotoko will have to demonstrate an above average performance to maintain the top spot.

Kotoko will be playing with their ears glued to the ground for the results of the Hearts-Aduana Stars game in Accra. Hearts appear favourites in the Accra meeting, while a defeat or draw at Bekwai will see the Phobians overtaking their rivals at the summit.

Free scoring Chelsea equally face a gargantuan task against Dwarfs at the Robert Mensah Park in Cape Coast. The one point difference between the two has raised the stakes in this game too.

Tema Youth will travel to Kpando to play Heart of Lions, while Arsenals stay at the Golden City Park to battle Medeama in the other clashes.

Struggling Bechem United welcome Ashgold to the Bechem Park, while wounded All Stars play as guests of another struggling side Wassaman at Sekondi.

The Mighty Jets-Liberty Professionals game comes off tomorrow at the Accra Stadium.
