President of the Ghana Football Association Kwesi Nyantakyi has tasked coaches in the country to spread their tentacles wider.

According to the CAF Executive member, it was one of the surest ways of recruiting more soccer talents to feed the various national teams.

He pointed out that the revival of the MTN FA Cup had unearthed many soccer talents.

'We saw many talents, especially from the lower divisions during the FA Cup competition.

'I therefore urge coaches in the country to take a closer look at the lower divisions, and the emergence of Nania FC as the overall best is an ample testimony that talents abound in the lower leagues,' he said at the FA Cup Awards ceremony in Accra a few days ago.

The success story of the revived FA Cup has left indelible marks on the minds of soccer lovers including Nyantakyi, who pledged full support for the competition.

'The FA Cup has come to stay, and I will ensure that it remains a permanent feature on the calendar of the FA,' Nyantakyi added.

Nania FC demonstrated brilliance from the prelims to the final showdown.

They defeated eight-time FA Cup lords and defending champions, Asante Kotoko, in the final game 1-0 after 120 minutes of pure soccer action to lift the ultimate in Accra.

Abedi Pele's Nania FC swept as many as six awards at the Awards ceremony but lost the Most Valuable Player Award to Kotoko's Ahmed Toure.
