Accra, March 30, GNA - The official sponsor of the Ghana Black Stars Globacom has sent its congratulations to the national team for their sterling performance against the English National Team at the Wembley stadium, on Tuesday, March 29, 2011.
The telecoms firm also showered praises on Glo Ambassador, Asamoah Gyan for scoring a fantastic equalizer in the dying minutes of the game.
"As the headline sponsor, Glo is proud to be associated with the Ghana Black Stars and is pleased to note the consistency of performance of the Ghana national team following their epic quarter-final performance at the 2010 World Cup in South Africa", the company said in a statement copied to GNA Sports.
"The management and staff of Globacom observe with great pride that the feat achieved at the Wembley comes on the back of a 3:0 thrashing of the Congolese National Team just two days earlier in the 2012 African Cup of Nations qualifier and reaffirms the Black Stars' well-deserved ranking as the number one team in Africa.
It added that the Black Stars have proven once again that with determination, the can-do spirit and the right confidence level, they can 'rule their world'.
The statement further stated that the "Black Stars' performance against the English National Team underscores the company's long cherished principle and belief that given the necessary conditions and support, African talents can stand their own against any in this highly competitive and globalised world".
It said the management of Glo is particularly happy that its Ambassador, Asamoah Gyan has shown great consistency in providing the arsenal which brings victory and smiles to the faces of many Ghanaians and Africans in general.
