THE LOCAL Black Stars' lackadaisical performance at the CHAN tournament in Sudan has caused Coach Herbert Addo his job, DAILY GUIDE SPORTS has gathered.
Ghana, uncharacteristically failed to grab even a point in all three group games against South Africa, Zimbabwe and Niger, and as a result, the Black Stars were kicked out of the tournament.
Reports available to the paper indicate that GFA gurus are not happy about the disgrace Ghana suffered during the tournament, putting the blame right at the door step of Coach Addo.
The GFA has consequently decided to terminate the contract of Coach Addo as the head trainer of the local Black Stars.
Inside sources at the GFA said the decision to boot out Coach Addo was reached minutes after Ghana lost their final group game against Niger.
A letter to sack Coach Addo is said to have been drafted already and it would be given to the Aduana Stars coach immediately the team arrives in the country on Tuesday.
The paper learnt that Coach Addo on arrival would submit his report about the tournament to the GFA: And the GFA, upon receipt of the tournament report, would immediately issue the sack letter to the embattled Coach Addo, DAILY GUIDE SPORTS learnt.
Ghana entered the ongoing CHAN tournament in Sudan as one of the favourites, having finished second in the first edition in Cote d'Ivoire.
But despite the noise made about them by connoisseurs of the game, Ghana made a mockery of themselves, losing all three games to get booted out of the competition.
