Sunderland have confirmed the signing of Sulley Muntari on loan from Inter Milan until the end of the season with a view to a permanent deal.
The Ghana midfielder has been granted work permit by the Home Office and thus makes a return to the Premiership, two years after Jose Mourinho signed him from Portsmouth to Italy's Inter.
Sunderland manager Steve Bruce thinks that Sulley Muntari will prove to be a 'fabulous acquisition'.
The 26 year-old won the treble of the Italian Serie A, Coppa Italia and Champions League at Inter Milan last season.
Muntari becomes the third Ghanaian international on the book of the Black Cats and joins national team colleagues Asamoah Gyan and John Mensah.
