
Six–year-old Master Kow Jackson beat all contenders at the Fifth Annual Swimming Competition organised by the Tesano Sports Club to win the game.
The competition, which was between the swimmers of the Tesano Sports Club and their counterparts from Ikoyi Club 1938 from Lagos, Nigeria was keenly contested in both the children and adult categories.
They competed in the various skills of swimming which included butterfly, freestyle, backstroke and breaststroke.
Kow, who was the youngest in the contest and also a member of the Tesano Sports Club emerged the most impressive swimmer, beating all in his category.
He won four gold medals and a silver medal in the Boys Under 10 Category.
Another contestant who also made waves in the Girls’ Category was six-year-old Chelsea de-Graft Ackun of Mizpah International School. She won four gold medals and one bronze medal.
Though it was a friendly competition, the contestants showcased admirable skills in the sport.
The competition sought to foster unity and friendship among members of the two clubs as well as whip up the interest of people so as to make them take up swimming as sport.
The Ghanaians beat their Nigerian counterparts in all four areas bagging a total of 461 points while the visitors had 243 points.
Winning most of the individual honours was 14-year-old Rhudii Quaye of the Tesano Sports Club who took away five gold medals in the Boys 12 to 15 years Category, while Stephania Bos, of Nigeria won two gold, two bronze and a silver medal.
