Ex-international Mohammed Polo says it will be 'disastrous' if Sulley Muntari, Michael Essien and Asamoah Gyan are axed from the Black Stars despite their gross insurbodination to coach Milovan Rajevac.
Polo accepts the trio flouted the rules by refusing to travel with the team for the Angolan friendly last Wednesday but says it will too harsh a decision to ban them.
"It is rather unfortunate but they are key players and ambassadors for the nation and so should not be quick to condemn them,'' Polo Said.
"We need to have patience to also listen to their side of the story before we start total condenmenation.
''Even if they erred, it will be suicidal to just sack them from the national team after all that they have done for the nation. That for me also will be travesty of Justice."
He added that:"There are better ways to deal with the matter that to just dismiss them and tarnish their image."
"But I feel sad for Michael Essien, Sulley Muntari and Asamoah Gyan who are not just key players for the Black Stars but role models for the youth."
Gyan has been quick to issue a public apology for his conduct and Chelsea boss Carlo Ancelloti has defended Essien claiming he sought permission to be absent.
There has been no response from Inter Milan midfielder Sulley Muntari.
The Ghana Football Association will from next week begin an investigation into the matter and come out with the punishment for the trio if found culpable.

Good Day Gahana! I said with Mr. Mohammed Polo 100%. I Just Kept My silent for a while until now. A Question to Dr.Nyantekyi,Has he Children? If he has and 2 or 3 of them are disobedient to he wil he cast them out off his Family? If he can do that then I am very sorry for him.He should not take such a rash decision like that. Call all of them listen to them before you take such a decision.Eaven then it is too hard a Fine will be OK, think over it we all have a lot to do both Playing body , Management Coach and the Nation. We akans have a saying that when your child passes sthul on your thighs you do not cut it away, you clean it . so please call them question them know the reasion why they did that, then after the whole competition then give them A heavy Fine as thier Punishment that will be accepted by the whole country.God be with us when Dr. Nyantekyi does not change his Decision.

if you hav 2 or 3 disobedient children among your children, you have to punish them by for example not allowing them to go out or disallowing them to play their favorite computer games. The same way Ghana can punish the AWOL trio by not taking them to the african cup which might be what they want; this would not be fair to those who would go to cup of nations if the trio are selected for the worldcup. if that is the case then we have to drop them out of the worldcup squad as well and this will serve as a deterent to others. Essien and Muntari should know better because of their past stories of apparently faking injuries to avoid national duties. As for Gyan he was just st***d because he should know that among all the Blackstar players his position is the most unstable.
