Addo's Red For Age Competition

FIFA has confirmed that 's suspension is only applicable for an age competition.

An earlier correspondence from FIFA to the FA confirmed Addo's suspension and stated that it was to carry over though it did not state whether the suspension applies for another age competition or an immediately organised competition by FIFA.

The Ghana Football Association had sought clarification from the world sport governing body over the eligibility of before Sunday's final qualifying match against Mali in the joint 2010 African Nations Cup and World Cup which ended 2-2 at the Baba Yara Stadium in Kumasi, Ghana's second largest city.

But FIFA says Addo's suspension will apply only for the next age-competition he takes part in, meaning the U-23 level if he earns a call-up into Ghana's Olympic team.

Addo, who did not make the 18-man squad for the game against Mali, picked up a straight red card during his appearance in the finals of last month's FIFA Under-20 World Cup in Egypt where Ghana beat Brazil 4-3 on penalties to emerge winners.

Despite failing to make Milovan Rajevac's squad for the game, the central defender could be available for selection in Wednesday's friendly against Angola in Luanda.

Addo is one of the seven Black Satellites players invited by Rajevac for the double header this month.
