Kesben FC maintains lead, beat Hassacas 4 - 3.

It was a day of protests, boos, jeers and water-can-throwing in match day five of the Glo Premier League as League leaders, Kesben FC refused to surrender the lead in the league at this juncture and beating home side Hassacas by four goals to three.

Kumasi Asante Kotoko supporters at the Ohene Djan Stadium threw water cans amidst boos and jeers at the players when the team conceded a goal in the late stages of the first half after playing a good game.

Supporters thought the goal was conceded nonchalantly.

At the Tamale Stadium, supporters of Wa All Stars poured invectives on Assistant Referee Emmanuel Baah for allowing a winner for RTU in the late embers of the game – a goal they believed ought not to have been allowed because Rahim Seidu was offside.

The game ended 2 – 1 (a day of 2 – 1 score lines) in favour of RTU.

Hearts of Oak supporters had their own share of water-bottle-throwing when they protested a red card decision by the referee but a Don Bortey goal was enough to ensure victory for the Phobians.

While the water-bottle-throwing was going on, Kesben FC remained resilient and worked hard to maintain their lead in the league.

They came from the first half break with one goal apiece with Hassacas but had a respite when Hassacas were reduced by one man.

The numerical advantage did not yield immediate dividends as the Hassacas shot into the lead. In a matter of 14 minutes, however, Kesben scored two quick goals to bring the score line to 3 – 2.

In a dramatic fashion, Hassacas put themselves in the game again by grabbing the equalizer.

In a match that produced seven goals, Kesben snatched the winning goal to retain the enviable position of league leaders.

At the Kpando Park, Heart of Lions maintained their impeccable performance by beating visitors, Bechem Chelsea 2 – 1.

Ashgold beat Eleven Wise two goals to nil at the Len Clay Stadium.

At the Golden City Park, Berekum Arsenals beat Olympics 2 – 1, while King Faisal drew goalless with Aduana Stars at the Baba Yara Stadium.
