Eric Bekoe strengthened his case for a recall into the Black Stars with a brace that helped his Egyptian side Petrojet to a 3-1 away win over El Hodood and took him to the top of the goal scorer's chart in Egypt.
The two time Ghana League top goal scorer struck the opening and final goal for his side to take his tally this season to seven goals as he chases his stated ambition of becoming top scorer in the Egypt league. It was his second brace in consecutive League games.
His rich vein of form may also have come at the right time with Ghana coach Milovan Rajevac thinking through his options for the World Cup qualifier against Mali on November 15.
Bekoe has not played for Ghana in a year and missed an opportunity to turn out for the Black Stars in the friendly against Zambia over visa problems.
But he was overlooked for the game against Sudan and Benin and has set himself the target of working his way into the squad with his goals in Egypt.
