Ghana strikers Dominic Adiyiah and Ransford Osei are among the shortlist for the best player award at the Fifa U20 World Cup, Ghanasoccernet can exclusively reveal.

Ghanasoccernet close sources within Fifa have revealed that the Black Satellites duo are among the ten players shortlisted for the award on Friday.

The shortlist was drawn up by the Competition experts of FIFA's Technical Study Group which Ghanasoccernet has obtained ahead of its unveiling.

Adiyiah and Osei will face stiff competition from Brazilian duo of Alex Teixeira and playmaker Giuliano.

But Adiyiah has been tipped for the top award thanks to his scoring prowess which has left him at the tournament's top scorer with eight goals.

Other players from Italy, Costa Rica, Korea, Hungary, Germany and the UAE were also nominated for the coveted prize.

As is tradition at FIFA competitions, it is the accredited members of the media who will play the crucial role of selecting the most outstanding player by voting.

Thus Adiyiah must excel in tonight's final clash with Brazil to win the award in a addition to the top scorer award.

The best player award at Fifa' U20 World Cup is a distinction honoured with the presentation of the coveted adidas Golden Ball.

The ten players nominated in alphabetical order are:
