SIC Life Company Limited yesterday presented food items, a GH¢3,000cheque and a 840,000 insurance cover to the Ghana Hockey Association (GHA) at the hockey stadium.
The items included 25 cartons of Milo, food drink, 25 cartons of milk and eight cartons of lucozade energy drink
The Managing Director of SIC Life Company Limited, Raymond Afrifa-Yamoah revealed that the gesture was to stir the team (Black Sticks and Black Sticks ladies) go the extra mile in the forthcoming hockey championship which starts tomorrow.
The insurance cover is meant for the 36 players and six officials for any eventualities during the ten-day tourney.
He pointed out that the donation was also to change the status of hockey as a lesser-known sport.
The chairman of GHA, Mr. Oko Nikoi-Dzani thanked the donors copiously for the gesture and appealed to other corporate bodies to follow suit.
