Hearts of Oak failed to bag all maximum points to breath some life into their league title ambition when visiting Chelsea held them to a 1-1 drawn game at the Ohene Djan Stadium yesterday.

The stalemate incensed their fans who were not satisfied with officiating and vented their anger on referee S.B. Bortey, who was subjected to severe beating and had to be stretchered out of the stadium into a waiting ambulance to be taken to the hospital, according to reports.

The fans rushed to the field after the game, expressing their discontent about the score line by holding the players hostage, but the few security personnel provided cover for the players.

In the game itself, tireless midfielder Eric Nyarko fetched the opener with his unfavourite left foot from their opponent's vital area, 16 minutes into the second half.
