
Eric Gawu, Hearts of Oak Confusion broke out yesterday when supporters of Accra Hearts of Oak held the referee and his two assistants, who officiated the match between the Phobians and Bechem Chelsea, hostage.
Hearts failed to win the match, drawing one all. The supporters thought the match officials were unfair to the Phobians, thus denying them the much needed victory.
They invaded the pitch in their large numbers immediately the match was brought to an end.
According to reports, the supporters also threatened to beat up the technical team for failing to catapult a win for the team. The few policemen present looked helpless until some reinforcement was made.
In the match itself, Hearts took the lead in the 15th minute through Eric Nyarko but failed to hold onto the win, allowing Chelsea to snatch the all important equalizer in the 28th minute.
Try as the Phobians did, they failed to carry the day.
Meanwhile, Asante Kotoko could go top of the Glo Premier League if they beat Sekondi Hasaacas at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium today.
Kotoko failed to go top of the premier league last Sunday when they failed to consolidate their 2-0 first half lead, allowing Liberty to draw 3-3. Third placed King Fiasal failed to win when they lost 1-3 to Eleven Wise at the Essipong Sports Stadium.
