Accra, June 29, GNA - Black Stars striker Matthew Amoah has donated
assorted foodstuffs and beverages to the Tema SOS Village.
The donation which took place last Friday was the NAC Breda striker's
contribution towards social responsibility.
The items estimated at over 2,000 Ghana Cedis (Two Thousand Ghana
cedis) included cartons of milk, bags of rice, toiletries, tomato paste, cartons of
Milo and bags of sugar was aimed at supporting the upkeep of the children in the
Orphanage.
Amoah who was accompanied by his wife, Justina added a cash donation of
1000 US dollars and promised an extra monthly contribution of 50 Euros
towards the upbringing of the inmates of the orphanage.
The Black Stars' striker cited his love for children as the motivation behind
the donation.
“I love children and I was touched by the plight of these children who have
no parents. They have nobody in their lives and usually depend on people like us
for their livelihood.
“I strongly believe this gesture will serve as a worthy motivation to others to
help these children realize their dreams.”
Isaac Kojo Ackon, Village Director of SOS thanked the Black Stars striker
for his kind gesture and encouraged others to emulate his example.
