OBODAI WAS ONCE AN AJAX PLAYER Former Ghana youth international Anthony Obodai makes a return to the Dutch Eredivisie after two years in the second tier league with RKC Waalwijk.
RKC Waalwijk booked their place in the Eredivisie after a 1-0 victory over De Graafschap in their play-off encounter, which completed a 4-2 success over three games.
Obodai was replaced in the second half after sustaining an injury.
RKC, who finished second in the Jupiler League behind champions VVV Venlo, overcame their opponents who ended the season 17th in the elite division.
Benjamin De Ceulaer scored the only goal of the game when he fired beyond goalkeeper Erik Heijblok to end RKC's two-year absence from Holland's top league.
Obodai,26, has played in the Dutch top flight with Ajax Amsterdam and Sparta Rotterdam and will play together with compatriot Fred Benson at Waalwijk.
