A proposed February 11 friendly between rivals Ghana and Nigeria is now being threatened after Egypt requested that they also play against the Ghanaians on the same day.
Nigerian officials told Goal.com that they are close to reaching an agreement for a match-up on February 11 with their Ghanaian counterparts. The clash is to be played in Nigeria.
The game is aimed at preparing both countries for the 2010 World Cup qualifiers in March.
However, Ghana Football Association (GFA) President Kwesi Nyantakyi has now disclosed that they have also received another proposal from Egypt for a friendly on the same day they are to play Nigeria.
The Pharaohs have requested to play the Black Stars at the Cairo International Stadium.
"We have two countries on board and we are considering their offers. Egypt are interested but a deal has not been confirmed yet," said Nyantakyi.
