Tunisian Test For Black Stars

THE Black Stars of Ghana and Carthage Eagles of Tunisia will test each others' strength in an international friendly at the Ohene Djan stadium in Accra.

Both teams are preparing for the next stage of qualifiers for the 2010 Africa Nations Cup in Angola and the FIFA World Cup in South Africa.

Ghana is placed in group D which consist of Sudan, Benin and Mali while the Tunisians are perched in group B with Nigeria, Kenya and Mozambique.

Both sides will do battle without the services of some key players including Michael Essien, John Mensah, Sule Muntari of Ghana and Raidhi Saidi of Tunisia together with players of CS Sfaxien and Etoile du Sahel-who engages each other in the confederation cup final.

That notwithstanding, both camps have invited equally talented players to fill the vacuum created and also given their respective coaches the chance to assess them.

l  German side Nuremberg are in discussions with Swedish outfit Gefle IF about signing their Ghanaian midfielder, Yusif Chibsah.

But the Bundesliga II club face intense competition from Swedish giants AIK Stockholm for the signature of the enforcer.

The 24-year-old was a hit in his debut season in the Swedish top flight, winning ten Player of the Match awards in the 25 matches he played in the season.

His performance attracted interest from the clubs but the former Asante Kotoko player is relaxed about making a decision over his future.

“I am happy that my performance this season has been noticed across Europe but I am not in a rush to make a decision,” Chibsah told Ghanasoccernet.com.

“The clubs have approached Gefle about signing me so I will have to wait to hear what my employers say before I make any decision.”

Even though AIK Stockholm are giants in Sweden, Chibsah insists playing in Germany would fulfil his childhood dream.

“I have always been a fan of German football and to get the opportunity to play for Nuremberg is something I cherish,” he said.
