Sudan will play Ghana in Gp D Sudan coach Mohamed Abdallah Mazda has brushed aside the strength of group opponents Ghana insisting he is happy to have avoided Cameroon, Nigeria and Egypt in the final phase of the World Cup qualifiers.

The Nile Crocodiles were drawn to play the Black Stars after in the final phase of the FIFA World Cup qualifiers.

They will also face Mali and Benin in Group D of the qualifiers which start in March which has delighted the local coach.

"It is a good group, I must say we are lucky not to be drawn in a group like the one of Cameroon or Nigeria or Egypt," Mazda said.

"We know the teams quite well, and we will stand a chance to win when we face any of them."

However, the Sudanese manager refused to claim that his side will be competing for the group's only ticket to the World cup finals.

"I said we have a chance, but that does not mean we will go to South Africa, of course we hope to do so but our priority is to appear again in the MTN Africa Nations cup finals in Angola."

Sudan will kick off their next group phase by hosting Mali in Khartoum.
