The Third Annual Ghana Commercial Bank Limited' Invitational Golf Championship would tee off at the Cocoa Research Institute of Ghana (CRIG) Golf Course at Tafo in the Eastern Region on Saturday, October 18.
Dr. Francis K. Oppong, Captain of the Tafo Golf Club who announced this in Accra on Monday, said about 100 amateur golfers are expected to participate in the one-day 18-Hole Medal Play competition.
He said the event, which would be played in accordance with the rules of the Ghana Golf Association and the local rules of the Tafo Golf Club, has Handicap 18 and 24 as the entry requirements for the Men and the Ladies while the requirements for the Juniors' category is the ages of 18 and below.
Among an array of golfers expected to be seen in action would include, Prince Kofi Amoabeng, President of the Tafo Golf Club, Joe Daglo, Lee Mensah and Abass Miezah.
The Ladies section would witness stiff opposition from Mona Myres-Lamptey, winner of the first event, Esi Cobbina, Florence Etwi-Barimah and Grace Afriyie.
Five prizes would be awarded in the Men's segment while three would be given in the Ladies category with two going to the Juniors.
Mr Lawrence Adu Mantey, Managing Director of the Ghana Commercial Bank Limited, also a keen golfer himself would present the prizes to the winners.
