Poor shooting at goal denied Kpando Heart of Lions FC the three maximum points as they drew 1-1 with Berekum Arsenals FC in their Glo Top Four Tournament played at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium in Kumasi on Wednesday.
Both teams came into the match with the aim of making amends for losing their first matches to Liberty Professionals and Kumasi Asante Kotoko, respectively last Sunday.
It was however Lions who started the game on a serious note as they kept pressure on Arsenals but their attack which was spearheaded by Stephen Owusu, Daniel Acquaye and Anas Mohammed failed to utilize the numerous chances that came their way.
In the 10th minute, Arsenals should have taken the lead when they earned a spot kick after Lion's Owusu was penalized for an infringement in the penalty box but Osei Bonsu surprisingly shot feebly into the hands of goalkeeper Mozart Adjetey in posts for Lions.
In the second half, Lions again lifted up their game and scored the opener in the 63rd minute through Stephen Owusu who connected home a cross from Bright Nsiah but Arsenals quickly levelled up the scores three minutes later when skipper Frank Yeboah delivered a thunderbolt of a shot that went straight into the yawning net.
The two sides after the goals concentrated their game in the midfield and made little incursions into their respective goal areas to end the match in a draw.
Arsenals skipper Frank Yeboah was voted Man of the Match at the end of the game and was presented with a trophy.
