Achimota's 29-year-old Kweku Tettezi recorded an impressive 41 stable ford points, playing five under par to reign supreme in this year's Stanbic Invitational Golf, played at the Achimota Golf Course last Saturday.
For his efforts, he took home a giant trophy donated by the competition's sponsors Stanbic Bank, in a keenly-contested and well organised Invitational Golf fiesta.
He was trailed by Godwin Sai, who finished the 18-hole competition playing four under par with 40 points, while the club's vice captain, Bob Evans, placed third with 38 points beating T.K. Govinus on count back.
In the ladies category, Eno Ofori-Attah stood tall with 33 points, while Victoria Adjei and Sakumono's Vivian Avornyor placed second and third with 32 and 31points respectively.
It was A. Brown who emerged the ladies bobby prize winner with 18 points, while debutant, A.A. Anaba won the men's category with 11 points.
Mr. Evans commended Stanbic Bank for their consistency and the quality of the competition, saying “Your return to this course is a clear demonstration of a loyal partner of this club, this year's tournament is a vast improvement on the previous year's, we hope it will be bigger as the years roll by.” The head of Marketing at Stanbic Bank- Mr Mawuko Afadzinu congratulated the participants for honouring the invitation.
He gave the assurance about his outfit's commitment to develope and spread the game of golf throughout the country, alongside their commitment to establish more branches throughout the entire nation.
