Black Starlets player, Aaron Amoah, has become the target of foreign scouts days after the 15-year-old emerged best player at the special four-nation Under-17 football tournament in Cote d'Ivoire.

The scouts, said to be mainly coming from Europe, have made enquiries about the player for an early buy to one of the many junior sides in the European big leagues.

Even before he was invited to the national Under-17 team, Spanish Division One side, Sporting Lisbon, had booked him and another Starlets team mate, Evans Afosu Antwi, for trials.

Sources at Flying Jets said the club was yet to give any serious view of the few enquiries that had been made of Amoah, insisting that he had great potential with serious chances of commanding a great price at the right time.

“How can we suddenly trade a talent of such profile at this time when there is every chance that he will fetch far more in no time,” James Oyedeji, an official of Flying Jets, told the Graphic Sports.

Amoah, a defensive midfielder with strong capabilities to feature in lateral defence, was Best Player when his goal helped Ghana beat Tunisia 3-0 at the four-nation tournament.

He was also adjudged Best Player in Ghana's 2-1 victory over Gabon in Ghana's last match and subsequently won the overall Best Player award.

That honour, indeed, turned out to be double delight for the youngster who had turned 15 just three days before last Thursday's memorable occasion when the win over Gabon secured Ghana a 100 per cent outing in the tournament.

The former student of Kwadaso M.A. JSS was discovered in Kumasi and played for Kingdoko Babies, the nursery side of the stable that produced banned Division One side, Mighty Jets.

Standing at 1.67m, he blends strength and intelligence, and is largely regarded as a major prospect of the few holding midfielders Ghana has produced in recent times.
