THERE are claims that FC Barcelona is attempting a part-exchange bid for AC Milan s playmaker, Kaka.
The pro-Barcelona daily claims that there is talk within the corridors of power at Camp Nou that the time could be ripe to make a concerted effort to bring Kaka to Catalunya.
President Joan Laporta is eager to give the club a boost by renewing the squad with at least one big name in an attempt to banish the memories of two barren seasons, and Kaka could fit the bill there.
The issue is, of course, that Milan has absolutely no motivation to sell one of its prize assets. However, the Rossoneri are themselves looking to rebuild after a fairly disastrous season at the San Siro, and as such a part-exchange could suit both sides.
Milan s interest in Ronaldinho and Gianluca Zambrotta is well known, and with Deco also set to leave Camp Nou, he could be a third makeweight in what would be one of the biggest player-for-player deals in footballing history.
Even if Deco is not involved, Ronaldinho, Zambrotta, and a fee of 20 million euro could potentially see Milan tempted to come to the negotiating table, even if nothing would be settled just yet.
For now, this deal remains mere paper talk, but there is certainly motivation for each side to give it a thought.
